What is website

What is website

A website is a collection of web pages, images, videos or other digital assets that is hosted on one or several Web server, usually accessible via the Internet, cell phone or a LAN. A web page is what you see on the screen when you type in a web address, click on a link, or put a query in a search engine. A web page can contain any type of information, and can include text, color, graphics, animation and sound. The definition of web page is a document, typically written in HTML, which is almost always accessible via HTTP, a protocol that transfers information from the Web server to display in the user is Web browser. When someone gives you their web address, it generally takes you to their website is home page, which should introduce you to what that site offers in terms of information or other services. From the home page, you can click on links to reach other sections of the site. A website can consist of one page, or of tens of thousands of pages, depending on what the site owner is trying to accomplish. Why do people visit websites. Generally, people look at websites for two primary reasons:  first reasons to find information they need. This could be anything from a student looking for pictures of frogs for a school project, to finding the latest stock quotes, to getting the address of the nearest restaurant. Second  reasons to complete a task. Visitors may want to buy the latest best-seller, download a software program, or participate in an online discussion about a favorite hobby.  The main thing to remember in creating a website is that you're not creating the website for you; you already know about the information or service you have to offer. You're creating the site for your visitors, so it should contain the content they want, and be organized in a way that makes sense, even to an outsider.  A website is a means of communication, and it is only successful when its message is received by the intended user. If you would like to learn more about modern web design techniques, good website practices and web design standards  all in simple and understandable format, it is best to start from guide  "Learning web design", which offers simple design exercises and builds your skills step by step. Most importantly, this book offers both ideas and exercises how to start and build  your skills incrementally.

What is computer

What is computer

A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or data. It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You probably already know that you can use a computer to type documents, send email, play games, and browse the Web. You can also use it to edit or create  sheet, presentations , and even videos. Before we talk about different types of computers, let's talk about two things all computers have in common: hardware and software. Hardware is any part of your computer that has a physical structure, such as the keyboard or mouse. It also includes all of the computer's internal parts, which you can see in the image below. Software is any set of instructions that tells the hardware what to do. It is what guides the hardware and tells it how to accomplish each task. Some examples of software include web browsers, games, and word processors. When most people hear the word computer, they think of a personal computer such as a desktop or laptop. However, computers come in many shapes and sizes, and they perform many different functions in our daily lives. When you withdraw cash from an ATM, scan groceries at the store, or use a calculator, you're using a type of computer. Many people use desktop computers at work, home, school, or the library. They can be small, medium, or large in style, and they usually sit on a desk. Once you add a monitor, mouse, and keyboard, you have what is typically known as a desktop computer. The second type of computer you may be familiar with is a laptop computer, or a laptop. Laptops are battery- or AC-powered personal computers that are more portable than desktop computers, allowing you to use them almost anywhere. Tablet computers or tablets are handheld computers that are even more portable than laptops. Instead of a keyboard or touchpad, tablets use a touch-sensitive screen for typing and navigation. The iPad is an example of a tablet. A server is a computer that serves up information to other computers on a network. Many businesses have file servers employees can use to store and share files. A server can look like a regular desktop computer, or it can be much larger. Are you new to using computers? Do you wonder what people mean when they say the cloud, Windows, ISP, or app? Perhaps you just want to know more about how computers work. When it comes to learning today's technology, our Computer Basics tutorial has all of the basic concepts covered.

What is network

What is network

A network is a collection of computers, servers, mainframes, network devices, peripherals, or other devices connected to one another allowing for data to be shared and used. A great example of a network is the internet, connecting millions of people all over the world together. Below is an example image of what a home network with multiple computers and other network devices all connected to each other and the internet. There are many types of computer networks, including the following:  local-area network (LAN) : The computers are geographically close together, wide-area network (WAN): The computers are farther apart and are connected by telephone lines or radio waves,  campus-area network (CAN): The computers are within a limited geographic area, such as a campus or military base, metropolitan-area network (MAN): A data network designed for a town or city, home-area networks: A network contained within a user is home that connects a person is digital devices. In a home network, you will generally have at least one of the following devices a modem or  router (wireless or wired), network switch. The modem is the device that sends all of your data to your ISP so that you can communicate on the internet.  The router "routes" between different networks.  In the home setup, there will generally be the outside network and your home network (inside network).  In addition to routing traffic between two networks, your router will generally have NAT (network address translation) and a firewall. The switch allows you to expand your wired network by giving you more Ethernet ports that you can use.  It switches which ports are communicating at one time at a very high speed.
